Vanta Pricing 2026: The 4 Plans, the AWS List Prices, and the Add-Ons That Move Your Quote
Vanta's own pricing page shows no numbers. It lists four plans (Essentials, Plus, Professional, Enterprise) and asks you to book a demo. The only list prices Vanta itself publishes are on its AWS Marketplace listing. As of October 28, 2026, they are $14,000 (Essentials), $21,500 (Plus) and $23,000 (Professional) per 12 months, each marked "starting cost for 1–20 employees."
Two things matter more than the base price. First, the Essentials-to-Professional gap is only $9,000, and one questionnaire add-on ($10,000 for 144 a year) covers more than that gap. If you expect a steady flow of security questionnaires, Professional is cheaper than Essentials plus add-ons. Second, Vanta's contract lets any discount lapse at renewal. A first-year discount is only worth what you lock into the order form.
If you are past 20 employees, the AWS numbers no longer apply. Vendr's transaction data puts a single-framework deal at $12,000–$25,000 for 1–50 employees and $20,000–$40,000 for 51–200.
This article is about Vanta's price only. It covers what each plan includes, which line items move a quote, and what the contract says about renewal. If you are still deciding between vendors, our Secureframe vs Vanta vs Drata total-cost comparison covers that question. If you need the full SOC 2 budget, including the auditor, see SOC 2 certification cost and timeline. Here we stay inside the Vanta order form.
01 · The numbers
What Vanta actually costs in 2026
Vanta's pricing page says: "Request a free demo today to discuss your business needs and get personalized pricing." No plan shows a dollar figure. Third-party articles fill that gap with estimates that range from a few thousand dollars to six figures. Most don't cite where the numbers come from.
There is one source that comes from Vanta itself: its AWS Marketplace listing. Vendors set their own Marketplace prices, and AWS displays them as "Cost/12 months." Here is what the listing showed on October 28, 2026:
The listing also prices modules you can add on top of a plan:
| AWS Marketplace line item | What the listing says it includes | Cost / 12 months |
|---|---|---|
| Trust Center | Trust Center module for 1–20 employees | $6,000 |
| Trust Center Advanced | Trust Center Advanced module for 1–20 employees | $10,000 |
| Questionnaire Automation | 144 questionnaires a year | $10,000 |
| Questionnaire Automation Advanced | 288 questionnaires a year | $16,000 |
| Customer Trust Management | Trust Center Advanced + Questionnaire Automation Advanced | $22,250 |
| Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) | Up to 50 vendors managed per year | $13,600 |
| AWS FTR Module | AWS Foundational Technical Review module | $7,500 |
Source: Vanta on AWS Marketplace (prodview-5ophamrbfxt44), checked October 28, 2026. The plan and module prices match our October 14 check, so they have held for at least two weeks.
These are list prices for the smallest band (1–20 employees), and the plans are labeled "starting cost." A direct quote can be lower if you negotiate or qualify for a startup discount. It will be higher once you pass 20 people or add frameworks. Use the AWS figures as an anchor to compare a quote against, not as your final price.
Above 20 employees: Vendr's transaction ranges
Vanta doesn't publish list prices for larger headcount bands. The best public substitute is Vendr's Vanta page, which summarizes anonymized deals that went through its procurement platform. Vendr's single-framework ranges:
| Company size | Scope | Typical annual contract (Vendr) |
|---|---|---|
| 1–50 employees | Single framework | $12,000–$25,000 |
| 51–200 employees | Single framework | $20,000–$40,000 |
| 200–500 employees | Single framework | $35,000–$60,000 |
| 50–200 employees | 2–3 frameworks | $30,000–$70,000 |
| 200–500 employees | 3–5 frameworks | $60,000–$120,000 |
Vendr's page gives slightly different bands in different sections. We quote the "single-framework" and "multi-framework" sections, which are consistent with each other. Treat all of these as ranges, not prices.
The 1–50 band ($12,000–$25,000) fits well with the AWS list: Essentials at $14,000 sits near the bottom, and Professional at $23,000 near the top. That fit suggests the AWS figures are a fair picture of what small companies are actually quoted.
02 · The plans
What each plan adds, according to Vanta's plan grid
Vanta's pricing page has no prices, but it does have a detailed feature grid. That grid is where you learn what the price difference between plans buys. Here is a summary as of October 28, 2026:
| Plan | What Vanta lists as new at this tier | AWS list (1–20) |
|---|---|---|
| Essentials | One compliance framework with agentic policy generator; Vanta AI Agent (search, evidence checks, policy templates, control mapping, SLA tracking); automated evidence collection; basic reporting and audit workflows; continuous controls monitoring; Auditor API; Trust Center; access to expert partners | $14,000 |
| Plus | Everything in Essentials, plus automated policy onboarding, AI-powered Questionnaire Automation (25 questionnaires per year), and Access Management | $21,500 |
| Professional | Everything in Plus, plus Questionnaire Automation (144 per year), risk management with customization, dashboard and reporting, Advanced Trust Center, custom monitoring tests, automated access management, advanced reporting (six customizable reports), advanced control management, and agentic issue management | $23,000 |
| Enterprise | "Fully customizable package with advanced GRC needs" | Quote only |
Three things in the grid matter for cost.
1. Every plan starts with one framework
Essentials lists "one compliance framework." If you need SOC 2 and ISO 27001, or SOC 2 and HIPAA, the second framework is an extra line on the quote. Vanta doesn't publish a price for it, and neither Vendr nor the AWS listing gives one. Vendr says only that "the per-framework price typically decreases as more frameworks are added," and recommends negotiating all frameworks together up front. Any article that gives a precise per-framework price, such as "$5,000 per framework," is not quoting a source we could find.
2. Some features are add-ons on every plan
The grid marks several features as "Add-on" in every column, Enterprise included. On October 28, 2026, these were:
- Third-party risk management (TPRM) beyond the basics: AI-powered security reviews, continuous vendor monitoring, the TPRM REST API and automated risk scoring. A vendor inventory and basic security reviews are included. AWS lists the TPRM module at $13,600 for up to 50 vendors.
- Questionnaire approval workflows and tag-based answering.
- Customer Commitments (extracting and tracking commitments from contracts).
If a sales rep calls one of these "included in Professional," ask them to show it on the order form. On the public grid, they are paid extras on every tier.
3. The Trust Center comes in two versions
Essentials includes a Trust Center. The Advanced Trust Center, with features like a custom domain, analytics, granular document access and branding, is listed under Professional. Essentials and Plus customers can buy it as an add-on. On AWS, Trust Center Advanced costs $10,000 by itself. That matters for the comparison in the next section.
For a closer look at what the AI features automate (and where a person still has to approve the output), see our Vanta, Drata and Secureframe AI features breakdown.
03 · The add-on math
When Professional is cheaper than Essentials
This is the most useful thing the AWS listing tells you, and it is easy to miss. The modules cost so much compared with the gaps between plans that adding them to a lower plan can cost more than the next plan up.
How to use this:
- Count your questionnaires before choosing a plan. Look at the last 12 months of security reviews from your CRM or your shared inbox. If you had fewer than 25, Plus covers you. Above 25, Plus can be upgraded to 144 a year, but Vanta doesn't publish that price, so ask for it in writing and compare the total with Professional.
- Essentials is the right plan if you only need the audit. If no buyers are sending you questionnaires yet and you don't need a branded Trust Center, Essentials at $14,000 is $9,000 cheaper than Professional. It is not worth paying for features you won't use.
- Plus costs only $1,500 less than Professional. At list price, Plus costs $21,500 and Professional $23,000. For $1,500 more, Professional moves you from 25 to 144 questionnaires and adds the Advanced Trust Center, risk dashboards and custom tests. Choose Plus only if you are sure you won't need any of those.
This math uses AWS list prices for the 1–20 employee band. A direct quote may discount the plan and the modules by different amounts, which can change the result. Ask Vanta to quote both options, Professional and Essentials plus the add-ons you need, so you can compare totals.
04 · The quote drivers
Five things that change your Vanta quote
Vendr names three main cost drivers: the number of frameworks, company size and add-on modules. From the AWS listing and Vanta's contract we add two more: how you buy and how long you commit.
- Headcount band. Every AWS price is for "1–20 employees." Vendr describes bands of 1–50, 51–200, 201–500 and 500+, and says you may face overage fees or a mid-term upgrade if you grow past your band. Vanta's public contract doesn't say how employees are counted, so ask whether contractors count and when the count is taken (at signing or at renewal). If you are near a band boundary, ask for that answer in writing.
- Number of frameworks. One framework is included, and each additional one costs extra. Negotiate all the frameworks on your 18-month roadmap in the first contract. Vendr notes that adding frameworks one at a time usually costs more.
- Modules. Trust Center, questionnaires and TPRM are the large items, $6,000 to $16,000 each at AWS list price. They can add more to the bill than moving up a plan does.
- How you buy (direct, AWS or reseller). Vanta's Master Subscription Agreement handles these differently. If you buy on a cloud marketplace, you pay the fees specified in the marketplace offer, and the marketplace handles billing. If you buy through a reseller, the MSA says the reseller sets the price, "including any increases thereto upon renewal."
- Term length. According to Vendr, multi-year commitments of 2–3 years "often unlock 10–25% discounts." The trade-off is that you can't leave Vanta, or change your module mix, until the term ends.
Discounts we could verify
- HubSpot for Startups: 25% off Vanta. The offer page was live on October 28, 2026. It requires free HubSpot for Startups membership and is "only available to... NEW customers of Vanta." If you already use Vanta, you can't use it at renewal.
- Negotiated discounts. Vendr reports that "volume discounts, multi-year commitments, and competitive pressure commonly yield 15–30% off initial quotes." That is Vendr's summary of its own deals, not a promise from Vanta.
We found nothing on Vanta's site or its AWS listing saying that a startup discount can be combined with the Marketplace price. If you plan to use the HubSpot offer, buy direct, and confirm the discount on the order form.
05 · The contract
Renewal: what Vanta's contract says
Most Vanta pricing guides stop at year one. The Vanta Master Subscription Agreement (read October 28, 2026) has three clauses that determine what you pay from year two on.
| MSA clause | What it says | What it means for your budget |
|---|---|---|
| §2.2 Price changes; discounts and promotions | Order form prices "may include discounts or promotional pricing." Vanta may change prices or "discontinue or change any promotion" in its sole discretion, effective at the next Service Period. Vanta will give "reasonable notice of any Fee increases" before the current period ends. | A first-year discount, such as the 25% HubSpot offer, is not guaranteed in year two. Budget year two at the undiscounted price unless the order form says otherwise. |
| §3.1.2 Order Form term | If no term is stated, the Service Period is one year. The subscription "will automatically renew for successive one- (1) year Service Periods" unless you give notice of termination "at least thirty (30) days prior to the end of the then-current Service Period." | Put the date 30 days before renewal in your calendar. After that date, you have committed to another year. |
| §2.5 Reseller purchases | If you buy through an authorized reseller, the reseller determines the fees "including any increases thereto upon renewal." | Your renewal terms are in the reseller's contract, not Vanta's. Read that one too. |
The MSA itself doesn't cap renewal increases. That makes the order form the place to negotiate. Ask for:
- A renewal increase cap written into the order form. Vendr says Vanta contracts "commonly include annual price escalation clauses (typically 5–10% per year)" and suggests aiming for a cap of 0–5%.
- The first-year discount extended to the renewal year, or a two-year term at the discounted price.
- A statement of what happens if headcount crosses a band during the term: a true-up at renewal, or a mid-term charge.
- Price protection for frameworks and modules you expect to add during the term.
- The renewal notice period. The 30-day default can be changed if the order form says so.
If you are already near renewal and considering a switch, timing matters more than the price difference. Our guide to migrating from Vanta to Drata explains how to schedule a move around an audit window.
06 · Total cost
The Vanta bill is only part of a SOC 2 budget
A Vanta subscription doesn't include the audit. The auditor is a separate CPA firm and bills you directly. Vanta's plan grid lists "access to Vanta's auditor network" and the "ability to bring your own auditor," but either way the audit is a separate invoice. For scale, Drata's SOC 2 audit cost guide puts small and mid-sized company audits at $7,500–$15,000 for a Type 1 report and $12,000–$20,000 for a Type 2. It puts penetration tests at $5,000–$15,000. Remember that Drata is a Vanta competitor, so these are a vendor's estimates.
Here is a first-year example for a 15-person B2B SaaS company getting a SOC 2 Type 2 report with Vanta Essentials. It uses the sources above and leaves out internal staff time:
| Line | Source | Low | High |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vanta Essentials, 1–20 employees | AWS list; low end assumes the 25% HubSpot offer, bought direct | $10,500 | $14,000 |
| SOC 2 Type 2 audit | Drata cost guide, SMB range | $12,000 | $20,000 |
| Penetration test | Drata cost guide | $5,000 | $15,000 |
| Year-one cash | $27,500 | $49,000 |
This is an illustration made from published ranges, not a quote. A buyer that requires an Advanced Trust Center or high questionnaire volume moves you to the Professional column (Section 03).
Vanta's fee is about a third to a half of this total. Even so, it is the line people research most because it renews every year. For the full budget, including internal hours and the choice between Type 1 and Type 2, see SOC 2 certification cost and timeline and SOC 2 Type 1 vs Type 2.
07 · Context
Vanta vs Drata vs Secureframe pricing, on the same basis
All three vendors list prices on AWS Marketplace, which allows a like-for-like check. The headcount bands are different, and that difference affects the comparison as much as the prices do:
| Vendor | Entry list price (AWS, 12 months) | Headcount covered | Official site |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vanta | $14,000 (Essentials) | 1–20 employees | Quote only |
| Drata | $15,000 (Foundation Package) | 1–50 FTE | Quote only |
| Secureframe | $7,500 platform + $7,500 first framework = $15,000 | Platform up to 100 employees | "Starting at $7,500/year" (Fundamentals) |
Sources: AWS Marketplace listings prodview-5ophamrbfxt44 (Vanta), prodview-3xw4sjqv2pb22 (Drata), prodview-7cpg4l6nufwgq (Secureframe); secureframe.com/pricing. All checked October 28, 2026.
At 15 employees, the three entry prices are within $1,000 of each other. At 35 employees, Vanta's AWS figure no longer applies, while Drata's and Secureframe's still do. At 80 employees, only Secureframe's still applies. Don't compare a Vanta quote for 35 people with a "$15,000 Drata" number from an article; ask each vendor to quote the same headcount and the same frameworks.

Vanta's pricing model: strengths and weaknesses
Pros
- A public list price exists (on AWS), so you can check a quote against it
- Professional includes 144 questionnaires and the Advanced Trust Center, making it good value if you use both
- The contract fixes fees for the term; increases apply only at renewal
- A verified 25% offer for new customers through HubSpot for Startups
Cons
- No public price above 20 employees or for extra frameworks
- The listed entry band (1–20) is narrower than Drata's (1–50) or Secureframe's (≤100)
- TPRM, questionnaire approvals and Customer Commitments cost extra on every plan
- The MSA lets discounts lapse at renewal and doesn't cap increases

09 · Methodology
How we researched this
On October 28, 2026, we read Vanta's public pricing page and feature grid, Vanta's AWS Marketplace listing (all plan and module line items, shown as "Cost/12 months"), and the current Vanta Master Subscription Agreement. We compared them with our October 14, 2026 check of the same listing. Larger-company ranges come from Vendr's Vanta page, and we quote only the sections that agree with each other. Audit and pen test ranges come from Drata's SOC 2 cost guide, which we label as a competitor's estimate. We didn't request a Vanta quote, and nothing here describes personal use of Vanta. Where no source gave a number, as with per-framework add-ons, the Plus upgrade to 144 questionnaires, or how headcount is counted, we say so instead of estimating.
